Exploring Excellence: A Visit to Van Hool Coach Manufacturer in Lier, Belgium

For 2024 and 2025, we will be adding two Van Hool Astromega TDX 27 87 seater Double Decker Coaches to our our fleet. Our Head of Business and Head of Finance visited their factory in Lier, Belgium to gain an in-depth understanding of how these remarkable coaches are crafted, to meet the skilled individuals behind the scenes and to personally select the interior specifications for their two new double decker coaches. 

Meeting the Makers

From engineers to designers, from mechanics to quality control experts, every person our team met was a piece of the puzzle that made Van Hool's success story come to life. Guided tours through the manufacturing facility revealed a meticulous process that involved cutting-edge technology and the craftsmanship of dedicated individuals. Van Hool's focus on quality coincides with Johnsons' quest to ensure every customer that travels with Johnsons experiences the very best. 

From Blueprint to Reality

One of the highlights was having the opportunity to participate in the interior specification process for Johnsons two new double deckers. Sitting down in Van Hool's offices our Head of Business and Head of Finance chose the finest materials for the plush seating to selecting the wood effect for the flooring, every decision was made with the passenger's comfort and experience in mind. 

A focus on creating spaces that resonated with luxury and relaxation, whilst ensuring the cost aligned with Johnsons' budgetary goals resulted in the true reflection of the company's commitment to delivering value without compromising on quality. 

A Vision Fulfilled 

Not only providing our team with a sense of fulfillment, they gained an understanding of the intricate processes that created the coaches but also witnessed the dedication of the team that brought these visions to life. With their interior specifications finalised and a deeper appreciation for the craft.
