A popular, well appointed hotel, in the centre of the Esplanade, overlooking the sea and adjacent to the town centre. Wednesday |
Departing Henley mid-morning, we journey south arriving in our resort during the afternoon. After settling into our rooms, we join our hosts for a sherry reception. Evening dinner followed by a relaxing evening in our hotel. |
Thursday |
After a hearty breakfast, we travel to the historic Cathedral City of Exeter. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the city, perhaps visiting the magnificent cathedral or browsing the shops, before returning to Sidmouth for a 4?course luncheon. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure, with afternoon tea available from 3.30pm. Christmas Eve dinner is followed by Christmas carols from the Sidmouth Town Band in the lounge bar, and musical entertainment. |
Friday |
Wake up to a leisurely breakfast in the morning. Perhaps work up an appetite with a walk along the Esplanade. A traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings will be served in the Restaurant. Relax in the afternoon and enjoy Christmas cake and mince pies as you watch the King's speech. A light evening buffet is followed by a Christmas Quiz. |
Saturday |
After breakfast, why not watch the traditional charity swim at the Ham, where locals brave the winter waters, before returning to the hotel for lunch. During the afternoon, we visit Slade House Farm and the Donkey Sanctuary, home to around 200 donkeys, which can be seen grazing in the paddocks along the many walkways. Visit the gift shop and Visitors Centre before returning to Sidmouth. Dinner this evening is followed by music and dancing. |
