Johnsons Coaches and Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club Join Forces to Support Fans, Players and the Local Community
9th October 2026
Johnsons Coaches is proud to announce a new partnership with Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club, bringing together two established organisations with a shared commitment to supporting the local community.
As an official club sponsor, Johnsons Coaches will work alongside Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club to support not only the club and its players, but also supporters, local schools and community organisations across Birmingham.
The partnership forms part of Johnsons Coaches wider commitment to increasing its engagement across Birmingham, following the opening of its new depot in Smethwick back in September. As the business strengthens its presence in the city, Johnsons is looking to build meaningful relationships with local clubs, schools and organisations and use its transport expertise to make sport, events and other opportunities more accessible.
A key focus of the partnership will be supporting the work undertaken by Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club and its Foundation within local schools and communities.
Through an agreement, Johnsons will provide discounted coach travel to schools working with Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club through its Foundation. The initiative will help schools access more affordable transport, giving more young people the opportunity to attend rugby fixtures, take part in competitive matches and become involved in sport across Birmingham.
The partnership will also explore opportunities to support players and supporters with their transport requirements, while encouraging greater participation and engagement with the club.
Speaking on the partnership, Tony Simmons, Commercial Director at Johnsons Coaches, said:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club. For us, this is about much more than sponsorship; it’s about becoming more involved in the communities we serve and looking at practical ways we can make a positive difference.
Transport can be a significant cost for schools, clubs and community groups, so we want to use our experience and resources to help make opportunities more accessible. Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club already does some fantastic work across Birmingham, and we’re looking forward to supporting that work while building stronger relationships with schools, clubs and organisations across the city.”
Emma Wilkinson, Chief Executive of Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club, added:
“Johnsons are a perfect partner for us because we share the same commitment to our local community. We might play elite rugby here, but at heart Birmingham Moseley is a grassroots club, and giving children the chance to play sport is what we're all about, whether that's through the Moseley Community Foundation's work in over 50 local schools or at our Sporting Village, now home to football, padel, beach volleyball, boxing, a gym... with more to come. Helping more young people get to games and get involved is exactly where Johnsons can make a real difference, and we're excited about what we can achieve together.”
The partnership comes as Johnsons Coaches continues to strengthen its presence across Birmingham and the wider Midlands. Community engagement will form an important part of this growth, with the business looking to establish further partnerships with local sports clubs, schools, charities and community organisations.
Through its partnership with Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club, Johnsons hopes to demonstrate how local businesses and sporting organisations can work together to create opportunities and deliver lasting benefits for communities across Birmingham.
