Work Experience at Johnsons Coaches: A Week in the Life of Julia

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Julia to Johnsons Coaches for her work experience placement. Over the course of four days, Julia had the opportunity to experience a variety of departments across the business, gaining a real insight into what goes on behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

Day 1 – Reservations
Julia's first day was spent with our Reservations team, where she learned how customer enquiries are handled, bookings are made, and holidays and coach trips are organised. She saw first-hand the importance of delivering excellent customer service and ensuring every booking is managed with care and attention to detail.

Day 2 – Marketing
On day two, Julia joined our Marketing department to discover how Johnsons Coaches promotes its holidays, day trips, and services to customers. From creating engaging content to planning campaigns and learning about social media, she gained an understanding of the work involved in showcasing everything Johnsons Coaches has to offer.
Reflecting on her experience, Julia said:
"Marketing was definitely my favourite department because I got to see how Johnsons Coaches advertises itself to attract more people. It was really interesting to see everything that goes into promoting the business and connecting with customers."

Day 3 – Compliance & Training
Julia then spent her third day with our Compliance and Training team, where she learned about the processes that help keep our drivers, staff, and passengers safe. She discovered the importance of training, industry regulations, and the behind-the-scenes work that ensures Johnsons Coaches operates to the highest standards.

Day 4 – Own Products
For her final day, Julia joined our Own Products team, where she gained an insight into how our exclusive coach holidays are planned and developed. From selecting destinations to organising itineraries, she saw the amount of planning and teamwork involved in creating memorable travel experiences for our customers.
