Day One: Arrival |
Departing Henley in the late morning, we travel to Cambridgeshire and check in to Belfry Hotel & Spa for our 4 night Cambridgeshire stay. Enjoy a welcome drink before dinner this evening. |
Day Two |
Off we trot to the National Stud at Newmarket. Home to resident stallions and ex-racehorse legends, find out what goes on behind the scenes in making potential future champions of the turf. As a working stud, the content of the tour varies throughout the year. This afternoon, head to the market town of Bury St Edmunds. Explore medieval streets and Georgian squares, where every pathway and old building has a story to tell. |
Day Three |
Today begins in picturesque Saffron Walden, with its heritage reflecting the wealth of this medieval, market town across the ages. Explore the quirky, cosmopolitan market, held here since 1141 in Tuesdays and Saturdays. This afternoon, 'take to the skies' at the Imperial War Museum Duxford. From the airfield where they first flew, see Spitfires and get up close to gigantic aircraft whilst walking in the footsteps of the men and women that served here. |
Day Four |
First stop is the University of Cambridge Botanical Garden. An ever-changing tapestry of colour, holding a collection of over 8,000 plant species from all over the world. Encouraging a great diversity of wildlife, the garden is a green oasis in the city. On then for time at leisure in Cambridge. Historic and cosmopolitan, known for its beauty, history and culture. |
Day Five |
After a leisurely breakfast, we head home. |
