Day One: Arrival |
We journey north through changing countryside and into the Scottish Highlands, arriving in Inverness during the early evening. After settling into the Palace Hotel & Spa, there will be time to relax and get acquainted with our comfortable riverside base. This evening we begin our Diamond All Inclusive package in style with a welcome cocktail reception, followed by dinner and the chance to enjoy the hotel's friendly atmosphere. |
Day Two |
Today we include a cruise on the world-famous Loch Ness, a wonderful way to appreciate the scale and atmosphere of this legendary stretch of water. Although forever associated with the elusive monster, Loch Ness has far more to offer, with steep wooded shores, wide open views and centuries of Highland history. It is Scotland's largest loch by volume and reaches depths of more than 600ft for much of its 23-mile length. |
Day Three |
A day at leisure in Inverness, often known as the Capital of the Highlands. You may like to stroll beside the River Ness, browse the city centre shops, visit the Victorian Market or simply take time to enjoy the hotel's leisure facilities. With lunch, afternoon tea and evening drinks included as part of the all inclusive package, today is ideal for relaxing at your own pace and making the most of the Palace Hotel's central location. |
Day Four |
Enjoy a memorable full-day scenic tour visiting Loch Maree and Inverewe Gardens (NTS). Travelling west, we pass through some of the Highlands' most dramatic landscapes, with mountains, moorland and lochs creating wonderful views along the way. Loch Maree lies beneath the striking mountain of Slioch and is dotted with wooded islands, making it one of Scotland's most beautiful inland lochs. We continue to Inverewe, a remarkable lochside garden where rare and exotic plants thrive thanks to the mild influence of the Gulf Stream. A packed lunch is included today for our full day excursion. |
Day Five |
We visit the Culloden Battlefield & Visitors Centre (NTS), one of the most atmospheric and important historic sites in Scotland. The excellent visitor centre uses artefacts, personal accounts and a powerful 360-degree immersion film to tell the story of the 1745 Jacobite Rising from both sides. There will also be time to reflect on the battlefield itself, where the final Jacobite Rising came to a tragic end in 1746. Returning to Inverness, the rest of the day is free to relax before enjoying our final evening of all inclusive hospitality. |
Day Six |
After breakfast we bid farewell to Inverness and begin our journey home, taking with us memories of Highland scenery, historic stories and the relaxed comforts of our Diamond All Inclusive stay. |
