Day One |
We travel to Pembrokeshire, arriving in time for dinner. We enjoy a drinks reception before dinner this evening to set the tone for our luxury holiday. |
Day Two |
We spend this morning at Aberglasney Gardens, spectacularly set in the scenic Tywi Valley and one of the RHS top ten formal gardens to visit. This peaceful paradise offers over twenty different garden styles, from formal to exotic through to woodland and meadows, with a wealth of rare and unusual plants to discover. Highlights include a restored Elizabethan cloister garden and award-winning indoor garden. We also enjoy an included cream tea. In the afternoon we enjoy a nostalgic round trip on the lovingly restored Gwili Steam Railway. Boarding at Abergwili Junction Station, we wind our way alongside the river through the beautiful Gwili Valley to Danycoed Halt. |
Day Three |
Today we spend exploring the quintessential seaside town of Tenby, whose narrow streets wind down from the medieval centre to the picturesque harbour, framed by pastel painted cottages. Wander through the charming, cobbled streets and take time out to watch the world go by from a quaint café or relax with an ice cream on one of Tenby's glorious golden sandy beaches. For something a little different, why not visit the Lovespoon Workshop and see how these delightful and intricately hand-carved keepsakes are created. A Welsh tradition since the 17th century, lovespoons are still very much alive today and are made from sustainable sources. |
Day Four |
Our destination today is Pembroke and we head straight to its splendid medieval Castle. Here we enjoy a self-guided visit to explore and learn about its tumultuous past, marvel at the rooms, which are all circular and perhaps take in the stunning views from the top are tremendous, appreciating the castle's natural defensive position on a rocky promontory overlooking Milford Haven. The remainder of the day is free to perhaps wander around the delightful marina waterfront, or take the opportunity to explore Pembrokeshire's scenic countryside and beaches; there are superb views at every turn. |
Day Five |
After breakfast, we may our way home, bringing memories of our luxury Welsh holiday with us. |
