The popular Majestic Hotel is located in the centre of Harrogate. Set in 8 acres of beautiful grounds. Restaurant, Lounge/Bar. Leisure facilities include a health club, indoor swimming pool. Tuesday |
Arriving in Harrogate, we make our way to out hotel. On arrival, enjoy an included cream tea, with dinner in the evening. |
Wednesday |
This morning we take a short drive to the spa and market town of Knaresborough. The town hosts many cafes and tearooms, or you may enjoy a wander along the riverside. We return to Harrogate where the rest of the day is free for you to explore at leisure. The town boasts huge open spaces, tree-lined boulevards, elegant buildings, antique shops, and shopping malls. Treat yourself at the world-famous Betty's Tea Rooms - founded in 1919 by a Swiss confectioner. Visit the Royal Pump Rooms Museum or explore the independent shops of the Montpellier Quarter. |
Thursday |
Our day begins with an 'Emmerdale' drive, taking us through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, as we make our way to the village of Esholt -'Beckindale' and then 'Emmerdale' for many years. From here we head for the former spa town of Ilkley, sheltered by Ilkley Moor and the Cow and Calf Rocks. We return to the hotel ready for our New Year's Eve Oscars Black Tie Gala dinner. |
Friday |
The day is free for you to explore the town of Harrogate. Have a relaxing lunch in one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars. Dinner tonight is followed by evening entertainment - Live pianist. |
Saturday |
We bid farewell to wonderful Harrogate and travel to the market town of Thirsk, where we visit the award-winning 'World of James Herriot' Museum to see where the world's most famous vet lived, worked and wrote his incredible successful series of books before returning home after lunch. |
